Okay, so what parts of the body on men are normally waxed, you ask? To
start with, it should be mentioned that men have NOT traditionally use
any sort of depilatory. In fact, this is something relatively new to
those who are not swimmers, too. Men who are professional swimmers
typically remove hair from the legs and thighs as well as the chest,
back and arms in order to increase their timing, since hair is
considered an extra “weight” with regard to water speed.

The parts that are now waxed for men, and more importantly the “why,”
are as follows:
- Face - The purpose for this is basically to have a smooth
face, free of the 5 O’clock shadow, for up to 3 weeks at a time.
Most men who do this may also get their side burns waxed due to the
similarity.
- Eyebrows - No, it’s not what you think! No man wants to
go around with no eyebrows! But, the ones who have a typical “uni-brow,”
or a lot of hair growing between the eyebrows, chose this for a
cleaner look
- Chest/Back - This is mostly done for a smoother look for
men who are not swimmers or athletes.
- Legs/Forearms - This is mostly done by athletes, but some
men like a more youthful appearance, overall.
- Feet - Only the tops of the feet are waxed, mostly for
better appearance while wearing open-toe shoes or sandals. This is
performed mostly in the summer months, too.
- Bikini Line - Maybe it should be a “Speedo line,” but
this is basically for look in a brief-style of bathing trunk.
- Brazilian - This is done for personal pleasure, with
regard to pleasing one’s partner. It is the removal of hair around
and about the genitals.
Now that you know the bottom line of what men have waxed, let’s
discuss the methods. The first thing to consider is whether or not you
want immediate, professional results. Salons or day spas typically have
trained professionals who can provide this to you. The alternative is to
do it at home, by yourself or with a partner, preferably someone who is
intimate with you. There are home waxing kits for those are who
confident enough to try them. More products are out there, however,
these all come highly recommended. If you do wax at home, be careful to
follow instructions exactly, so as not to damage your skin or any other
part of your anatomy. Be aware that the time frame for re-growth will
vary, due to your genetics, so it could be anywhere from 3-6 weeks.
